Actually, that possibility is really great because you know... Holy Roman Empire's complete name is Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation ya know. I've done some research and I've found out about it to be a nation of Germanic origin but i think most of you already knows it, given the fact that Holy Roman Empire's grandpa in the anime is Germania.... so basically yes, Germany is Holy Roman Empire in a way... sadly he doesn't remember... And maybe he doesn't simply because even though Germany is Holy Roman Empire in the past, he's not exactly him. Yes they are both Germanic nations but mind you that after France killed Holy Roman Empire (yeah, f*ck Napoleon Bonaparte for that TTATT KUSO!!! Shinsei Roma... ), the land is sooner conquered by Prussia and later Prussia "discovered" ( in the anime) or simply revived Holy Roman Empire as Germany by reuniting nations with Germanic language or Germanic origin under Prussia's rule after so many centuries! And then sadly, when the Nazi, in short Adolf Hitler, ruled... he abolished Prussia in 1932. Sadly I don't know why he did it or if he did it directly or not. After that Germany took control, but by then there still remains some small parts of Prussia, thus it is not officially dissolved... But at the end of World War II about 1947... Germany is defeated by Russia and Poland, thus they conquered part of the land of Germany that is the original Prussia... making it officially.... abolished....
